About PatentAgility
PatentAgility is a patent analysis toolkit built by Kirk Sigmon at KellDann Law PLLC to make patent review faster and more transparent. It combines USPTO public data, custom-trained machine learning, local NLP workflows, and lawyer-built product design for USPTO examiner analytics, U.S. patent family review, claim comparison, support search, and drafting QA.
We're building the patent analysis tools we always wanted.

No. Everything is local to our systems (though there are multiple servers!).
Yes - available on GitHub. (That said, we don't disclose some information, like our security systems/rate limiting process.)
Yes - all systems developed by patent barred lawyers based on their real workflows.
Strong: we don't store anything other than public USPTO data and diagnostic logs.
Best-in-class, informed by academic research. No LLM "magic."

Other Patent AI Tools
$$ - Thousands a year, if not more.
Extensive - often reliant on ChatGPT, Gemini, or other external tools.
Not: you rarely have insight into what is acutally happening. Data may be processed by third parties.
Rarely - often "designed" by non-lawyers through imprecise and unreliable LLM prompts.

"Let's prompt this LLM until it does what we want it to do."
Varies depending on tool.
Manual Attorney Review
$$$, especially at large/overbloated law firms.
Probably, but they might not admit it.
Not unless you buy them a drink first.
Yes, but not guaranteed - many firms rely on non-patent barred associates and paralegals.
Totally dependent on their IT stack.
Human mental processes and Microsoft Office.
Often slow - they're billing hours, after all.
